Ink Portrait

If you know me in real life you'd know about my obsession with wet mediums when it comes to drawing. 

I adore ink and watercolor. (as compared to pencils and color pencils hehe) 

Some time ago my drawing lecturer, Rossalyn brought her sepia ink to school to demonstrate and I told myself I must get one! 

Isn't it niceeeeee ♥0♥ 

I was confused if I should continue drawing the hair or just leave it like this because I think it looks quite good this way. 

But since it's just a practice/experiment I decided to continue drawing it. I didn't take too long to do this anyway. 

So I proceeded. Well it doesn't look very satisfying in the end but ... at least I tried! hehe I will improve I swear.

Another thing you should know about me is my obsession over beautiful faces! especially girl's. 

sounds lesbian but yeah it's my favorite thing to draw. One of my biggest wishes is to be able to draw these faces well. Haha.

Thank God It's Friday!

Today was such a nice day! Had enough fun and good laugh :)

Solo lunch at coffee bean. Banana muffin! I was feeling extremely fat after eating the muffin.

Then I went to school and was so happy to see that Sam bought all of us cupcakes!

Each cupcake costs about $3. Not cheap. It's really sweet of her! 

In case you're wondering why she suddenly bought us cupcakes,

it's because it's the last class we'd be having together before we're being separated according to our specialisms next term. 

We'll still be having a few classes together but 90% of the time we'd be having different classes already :(

Kinda scared thinking about being in a new class with new people again.

These people have been really fun to be with! :)

Just when we all started to be really close to each other, then they're gonna separate us :(

Nerissa was stressed cuz of the academic essay that we're doing,

to make her feel better we decided to go and eat something nice!

Food always makes us happy! hehe.

After that we had some Shih-Lin snacks too. Yum.

Then Nerissa said that she needed to buy a dress for her grandma's birthday celebration

(which is actually just an excuse to buy a new dress haha)

so we went shopping together (for the first time I think?)

We also bumped into Gab with her boyfie in H&M!

We had so much fun together! Since the ladies wear's fitting rooms in H&M were too crowded we went all the way to the 3rd floor 

for the fitting rooms of men's wear to try the clothes and walked to each other's fitting rooms after trying each clothes 

though there were people queuing outside. Windy and I who didn't plan to be buying clothes ended up buying some knitted wear too! 

Nerissa didn't buy any dress in the end but spent them buying numerous over-sized knitted tops, cardigans and boxers for his dad. lol.

H&M has got a nice shopping bag >:D

Just think today was quite an eventful and happy day so I blog about it.

13rd of Feb

Pen drawing.

Stayed in Subway alone for hours yesterday to do my drawing homework.

Good music + enjoy doing what you love + Subway cookies = good day.

One of my biggest wishes is to draw beautiful faces beautifully. haha. More practices! 

Anyway today was quite a... well not entirely good day, because there're a lot more works to be done by next monday for 3D! :( But it was quite a fun day at the same time. My friends and I were sitting on the Campus Green in our college during the break, doing our assignment, talking, laughing, and some people actually came and took photo together with us. I like how Lasalle always attracts the tourists' attention when they pass by, they'd always stop by and take a photo with it, and I like how Lasalle is open for the public to visit all the time, because you know, I just have this weird obsession of seeing and talking to tourists and strangers. haha. 

Two students from SMU also came to us and asked us to draw/write/photograph/sketch about some characters or something (I'm not too sure. It's a..survey? or their project). I could see that they were very impressed and delighted to see all my friends' drawings (though it only took 5 mins for each of them to sketch). So proud of my classmates! :)

Then when I was having dinner with Windy and Nerissa just now, apparently they were speaking Bahasa to each other since I can also understand, the guy who was sitting at the next table (I kept peeking at his green curry when we were eating cuz it looked so yummy!), in his working attire, asked Windy if she had a piece of paper and a pen when Nerissa and I went to order our tomyum (haha), Windy gave him, we continued talking then (Nerissa was trying to peek what he's writing! haha). After a while he returned the pen to Windy, and then passed us the paper with his name and handphone number on it, and we were like 'huh? o.o'. So...he asked if anyone's interested in teaching him Bahasa, can call and contact him by that number, and walked away. I was still stunned when he's gone. hahah. 

And Nerissa told us that before we started our class just now a guy from the foundation suddenly stood up when she was walking past and introduced himself to Nerissa by holding out his hand. For some reason it's just funny :P

I think today was quite an interesting day so I blogged about it. 

I'm actually sleepy and still having quite many homework waiting to be done,

yet I'm sitting in front of my computer blogging. hehe.

Oh and it's Valentine's day tomorrow! I'll spend mine rushing assignments anyway.

Ah but of course I'm gonna celebrate it with the love of my life - nice fooooood. hahah.

would be having a nice meal (hopefully cakes!) with my amazing friends after school tomorrow :9

Embracing Solitude

Is it weird that I embrace solitude? Or even enjoy being alone?

Society is afraid of alonedom, like lonely hearts are wasting away in basements, like people must have problems if, after a while, nobody is dating them. but lonely is a freedom that breaths easy and weightless and lonely is healing if you make it.

Perhaps in the interest of loving oneself, perhaps all those sappy slogans from preschool over to high school's groaning were tokens for holding the lonely at bay. Cuz if you're happy in your head than solitude is blessed and alone is okay.

It's okay if no one believes like you. All experience is unique, no one has the same synapses, can't think like you, for this be releived, keeps things interesting lifes magic things in reach.

I want to go to a comfortable cafe to have a nice and quiet meal and stay there to read, draw and paint alone. I even want to try watching movie in the spacious cinema alone. I want to travel to an island and walk, eat, read, bike, take photographs, enjoy the beautiful views, alone. Or maybe it's just that I haven't found a partner whom I'd be feeling alright doing these with, besides my sister and some childhood friends. Oh man I'm such a boring person.

But it doesn't mean that I don't like being with people. Sometimes being alone for too long makes me blue, like most of the people, too. Then I'd crave to talk to someone. Oh so contradicting. I think I'm weird, really.

First Typography Work

Exactly one month ago, I posted a short post (here) about a project that I was going to start doing.
After a few of sleepless nights, I finally finished the project! Yay.
It started from planning, generating ideas, sketching, designing, drawing, painting, scanning,
editing till printing! Finally I'm done with itttttt.

The poem I ended up choosing is called Destination from John Flanagan.

Blue below her and blue above

she moves out smooth

with only the smallest white objections

and goes about her business,

i watch her bulk to speck

and stow away in her figment,

sunset aft, moon on bow,

spray to spice intention,

what reefs and capes she rounds,

which harbour’s pleased to see her

set down her great red boxes,

a place i used to call

or somewhere yet to feel,

Bombay or Valparaiso.

F for flags and G for sea gull.

Haven't been blogging for too long! Hmm how has 2012 been? I did my assignment until 7 in the morning and then woke up at 7.45am to school for the first time, then I slept at 8pm that night until 6.30 in the morning! Really unhealthy, you can easily tell that when you look at my face now. Pimples and dark eye circles prove it. Went to shoot a Dutch model for the first time together with Ivan (thank youuu!) but then don't have time to edit the photos these days :( New project's coming! I might be doing a magazine. Hope it'd be something I'll be proud of! :)

sister is going to Tioman island tomorrow for a diving course and she'll only be back on the 15th. I want to go with her so badly, but then school has only started for a few weeks, i shall be patient and work harder now cuz I'll be having a veryyyy long sem break on May (till July).

Alright I've been slacking for hours. Should go back to doing my homework again.

Hope life has been treating everyone well.
